This weekend we finally got around to getting our new shadow priest attuned. We downed Illidan and then cleared SSC in 3.5 hrs. It's been so long since we've been back there that some of the people listed in my healing assigments weren't even with the guild anymore.
But what was supposed to be a relaxing run seemed anything but. We have a mage that joined the guild in the past month or so. Apparently pre-BC she played a resto druid and has a holy pally sitting on the side. And she's been running that pally through Kara. Reports from a priet say she's a really good healer.
Well, one of our paladins had to change jobs recently, effectively preventing her from raiding with us. So the mage contacted me to say that she'd prefer to play her healadin and switch mains. Within the week, an old healadin that had disappeared in December came back and wanted to raid. Add onto the confusion that one of our mages got hacked and did this whole "I might not come back" letter of nonsense.
So I have a pally back that I wasn't expecting and a mage MIA for who knows how long, and this girl wants to bring her pally to SSC last night to prove how good of a healer she is. I try to explain that 1) I don't need proof. If C says she's good, then she's good. 2) We're short a mage already and 3) I have to figure out what to do with this pally that's suddenly back before I can do much of anything else.
Over the healing lead channel, I said something about how it was kinda bait and switch, with her joining as a mage and pressuring me to let her switch. Well, apparently that somehow got back to her, and I get this passive agressive whisper from her about how seemingly nice people actually weren't and how she was asked to volunteer to play her pally and it wasn't her idea, blah blah blah. Q f'ing Q, ok? I'm trying to do a raid here. Then she says something about being offended. I replied "Cool, so am I."
Any chance that girl had of ever playing her pally with us died at that exact moment. I'm pretty tolerant of personality quirks but I draw the line at the girly passive agressive crap. I will not have it in my healing team. End of story. I already have enough to deal with and don't need the unnecessary stress.

Monday Monday
A lot happened to the WoW world over the weekend and I'm still trying to figure out how it's going to affect me. Mainly the haste and libram changes have me a bit puzzled until I have the time to sit down and hammer them out.
Last night we went to Black Temple to finish off Council and Illidan. We have a new recruit that needs vials, so the plan was to hit up SSC afterwards. All of the mechano-druids of white light doom went down pretty easily after the first couple. It always seems to take one or two to get the healers' attention that people could die here. lol
So we head in to the Council's chambers. Our GM is on a serious "full raid consumables" campaign, but for this fight I go buffs to the gills anyways, because we cheat on the healing side of things. One less healer on the paladin council member's tank ftw. So far we've managed to pull it off with little trouble, although my husband, said pally tank, still gets nervous. >:D
So we start up the fight and we're cruising right along per normal. This is like the ideal fight for our guild since it relies on both coordination and serious tank and spank management. We lost a lock about 3/4 of the way through but we battle rez'd him back up, np. Then we lost a couple of people to DC's. It wasn't a big deal since enough of us were still there to finish the job. Then the call goes out over Vent that the DC'd couldn't log back on. There was a character list retrieval error.
To make a long story short, little by little our entire raid got kicked from the game, 2 people here, 3 people there. The last person was booted with the Council at 1% health. Nooooo.... We fought tooth and nail to win and the servers just pwn'd us big time right at the end. lol We waited around for over an hour, hoping the character list server would make a recovery, but no luck. Apparently Blizz didn't get things fixed until about 1am EST.
So tonight it's BT Take 2 plus some naga lovin'. I'm not even sure if I remember how to do those fights anymore. :P

Weekend Summary
Tis the weekend for huntering and an SSC attunement run for a new resto shammy.
In my quest to be a good hunter, I've been doing a lot of research, mostly around the common things like spec, shot rotation, and equipment. Pretty standard stuff. But one theme that keeps cropping up is the mythical "melee hunter". Everytime I come across those stories, I quietly laugh to myself and move on. No one could be so misguided.
Over the weekend I found to my horror that this beast is apparently real. During a SM Library pug, not only was the other hunter melee'ing, he also was rolling on +strength weapons. Honest. I don't run meters on my hunter, but I couldn't see how hacking at things with an axe could be the best use of dps. And no, hunter's mark isn't going to help much, either. At least he had a pet out. No more will I snicker at the fable.
.............................................................................................
Somehow, as if by magic, we've managed to get another resto shaman. If you do a search of the WoW LFG forums, you'll see that Shaman and Druid are the top needed class, no matter if you've just started Kara or are clearing BT/MH. We're no exception, but being in the middle hurts us on recruiting. You need your vials to run with us, but if you have them, why not upgrade to a guild that has everything end-game on farm yet? That's what I would do. >:)
This puts us in the position of having to spend 2 days attuning every new person in the guild. It's not the end of the world, certainly. But it does kill any progression attempts for the week. On the bright side, we one-shotted SSC last night in a record 4 hours. We didn't even wipe once on trash. Seriously. I'm surprised as you are.
Now if we could only get our GM to stop singing show tunes during raids. I mean, we were doing good! Why punish us??
